Tire/Wheel Upgrade?

Hey guys, looking to do a tire upgrade on my Outerbanks once I get it. Not sure if I will do it right away or not too distant future, but most likely want to get it done at some point.

Probably my main reason for wanting to do it is to give it the beefier look without upgrading and paying for the sasquatch and everything you get with it. Also, I like having the paint match fenders.

Do you guys have any recommendations on putting some new wheels and tires on? Again, just want a beefier look, but not looking to put like 37s on or anything crazy where it requires removal of the crash bar. Want more of an all-terrain tire that won't give me road noise issues. And lastly, not looking to break the bank either.

Thanks in advance!

There are plenty of aftermarket wheel options out there, but few at the moment with +30 (Sasquatch) or +55 (non-SAs) offsets. If you go with a smaller offset or negative offset, you’ll have some wheel poke to consider. I have read a few folks talking about how the stock Goodyears seem to be throwing more rocks/gravel/mud than they’d like so I’m likely to switch tires as well (whenever I get my rig). I’m curious about the road noise side of things. Is there any kind of website out there that provides an objective measurement/comparison of road noise by tire?

I’m curious about this to!! I have the obx coming at some point and want to upgrade but don’t know much about tire size . I did see a video on YouTube of a Ford dealer installing a 2 in lift and new tires using the stock obx wheels . I really like the way it sits probably the way I’m going to go

have you considered a wider tire on your present wheel? with the OB wheel being 7.5 inches wide, you could easily put a tire with a 275 tread width, thus adding some more

Would that OBX wheel take a 295 with 2 inch spacer lift?

I have my Sasquatch rims/tires available. Swapped them out after just under 1k miles. They’re Goodyear 315/70r17 and come out to about 34.5 inches

How do you think the road noise is? Do you think it adds any road noise at all?

I was just looking at this. There are a lot of options I found at Discount Tire. https://www.discounttire.com/fitmentresult/tires/size/255-70-18?q=:bestSeller-asc:priceValue:[127 TO 230]&sort=bestSeller-asc&page=0

After looking through the list, this one looks great to me. https://www.discounttire.com/buy-tires/nitto-terra-grappler-g2/p/36629

I was surprised by how quiet it is. Freeway driving can be a bit loud but that’s to be expected plus almost all my driving has been top down. Can’t speak to the difference between the Sasquatch and the stock tires because I got the 35s from the factory and swapped out for a similar tire (bigger rim). It also only happened last night so ive driven about 10-15 miles on the new tires

Anyone know if the wheels have the 2 piece lugs that does typically uses or did they put a 1 piece lug on the bronco?

I like what they did but I’m curious what all different tires would fit on the OBX rim with the 2” lift kit. I got the kit sitting in my garage already, just still trying to figure out what I want to do with the tires. I like the stock road noise even with the soft top. I can cruise at 85 and it’s not loud at all.

Here's a link to a short vid of 275s on an OBX. I like this size and plan to install on my BB. I'm looking for something wider, not taller. Differences are so small, may not need to recalibrate. Good luck with your decision!
