Does anyone have any pics of the sas rims without the silver beauty rings on them? And is anyone running them without them on?

That's what I'm going to do also. Should be fairly easy. Scuff up the painted surfaces, clean with alcohol and paint.
What color are you going to paint them?

Looks sharp! The risk would be exposing the threads of the open holes. Also the mating surface is exposed. It would be good to get some nice looking bolts to put in all of the holes. You would then have the bead lock look without actually locking it. A true beadlock ring isn't made to sit against that flush surface; it needs the tire to be there. No Beauty ring and a full set of bolts might be just the trick!

Think I might plastidip the beauty ring. If I don't like it, I can peel it off no problem. I think that "orange" that is used as an accent color on the BL's would be interesting.

Good ideas! I'm a girl that doesn't like chrome stuff on her rig and I wasn't liking the silvery ring on the wheels.

The nice thing about painting them yourself instead of powder coating is if you get any scratches on them, just sand the scratched area and repaint. EZPZ

Are you going to use a color close to CG or are you going to get a paint with the actual CG paint code? If it is the paint code, where do you get your paint?
Either way, I think it will look great!

i'll have body color mirrors and door handles on my Race Red Outer Banks so i'm leaning toward black beauty rings. I just think more red might be too much.

I ordered a couple of rattle cans of base coat M12 (Carbonized Grey Metallic) and a can of clear coat from PaintScratch.com.

The paint arrived earlier this week and I havenā€™t had time to do a spray out and confirm the color match yet but since itā€™s just the beauty rings, I am not too concerned since they are not adjacent to the body so if the color is off by a smidge it will never be noticed.

BTW - HERE IS THE PAINT CODE FOR BADLANDS ORANGE

Any paint shop should be able to mix this up for you.

Yeah i know what you mean , Iā€™m not big on chrome either. Unless its a vintage muscle car and sometimes that can even look better with some black accents lol

That will look sweet with that color, or maybe even black painted door handles kinda like the black accents on the 19 explorer sport

Into vintage cars as well - whether they are muscle cars or not. My husband's daily driver is a '69 Falcon s/w and then he also has an 84 AMC CJ7.

Like many of you, I didnā€™t like the ā€œsilverā€ beauty rings either. Thanks to this thread, I tackled painting them and they turned out great. 3 thin coats of gloss black and one thick coat of clear coat. I also swapped tires for Nittos. The good years look like riding lawnmower tires to me. Couldnā€™t get past it.
