Good morning nation! I have a quick question for all of you. What are your favorite national parks and why? Also have you camped inside the park?

Zion NP in Utah is still one of my favorites. Amazing hiking and scenery. I've tent camped in one of the developed campgrounds there, byt my next trip there will include overnight hiking The Narrows from the top down.

Smoky Mountains. Went for the first time this last July. Amazing! Can't wait to come back to camp, hike and drive the trails.

I have not visited many national parks, that is one reason I want a Bronco. I have enjoyed Acadia in Maine. Camped outside the park. The NP sits mostly on Mount Desert Island. I did circumnavigate the island in my ocean kayak. That was a blast!

Big Bend, Amazing scenery and a great place to unwind. I have camped in the Basin a few times. Yellowstone is Unbelievable the wildlife is cool but the Bison can get annoying though. Pulled the Travel Trailer there and stayed in Fishing Bridge camp site. Not a National Park but the Padre Island National Seashore is a really nice place to fish and get about as far away from people as you can get tent camping there is great.

Rocky Mountain National Park is pretty cool. Driving through and seeing the terrain and elevation changes is an awesome experience . I had never been up above the tree line before...amazing!

Yosemite, is another great park never stayed in the park but have stayed just outside. Beautiful scenery. We pulled the teardrop for its maiden voyage to Yosemite. Definitely a place we will visit again.

Would it be fun to do a National Parks bracket? Do a series of polls to see which park wins?

Glacier National is my favorite. Hiking trails, wildlife, and stunning scenery make it a special place. Camping at Many Glacier, Two Medicine, and St Mary’s is fantastic. Mountains, lakes, streams, glaciers, goats, lynx, black and grizzly bear, moose.

My wife and I did a road trip from Sacramento to Bryce and Zion Canyons a couple years ago in my Mustang - they were absolutely gorgeous... we left on a Wednesday morning, drove all day, stayed in a hotel outside Zion Canyon that night, got up for sunrise over the canyon Thursday morning, hiked all day and then drove to just outside Bryce Canyon ... spent the night in a hotel and then got up Friday morning, saw sunrise over the canyon and hiked all day - then hit the road ... spent the night in a hotel and Saturday, returned home... it was a BLAST ... absolutely beautiful!!!!

Haven't been to too many. The wife and I and BN member #462 and her husband were supposed to go to Europe together in June (cancelled) then August (also cancelled), so we pivoted to rent an AirBnB in Driggs, ID to go to Yellowstone, Jackson Hole, and Grand Teton. We didn't do any camping but did some awesome day hikes. Yellowstone gets all the love, but I gotta be honest, we might have enjoyed Grand Teton more. Below is a picture of us at the Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone.

Of course living in AZ I've been to Grand Canyon and Saguaro.IMG_20200819_134305.jpg

Grand Teton is at the top of my list. If I had to chose just one, that would probably be it.

Death Valley. Its my favorite. And a ton of trails. Not a forgiving place, but if you respect it, and don't force the issue on anything, its the most amazing place Ive seen on four continents. Look forward to running the Rig there when it arrives.

Yes Death Valley is amazing. Ooh the racetrack is a must see, and who doesn’t like mint chocolate chip.

I liked Estes Park in Colorado. We live in north Arkansas and pulled our 24 foot camper from here to south Dakota then down to Estes park. Lots of roads to drive and also lots of hiking.

Mine too. Haven't been out there since 89 though. Another place I enjoy but not a National Park is the North Shore of Lake Superior. I used to live in Duluth MN. and there were cabins we stayed in on our weekends away. This was back in 86 though so not sure what's still there now

Technically not a National Park, but a National Forest, my favorite San Juan National Forest with some of the most scenic, high exposure trails and hwys on the planet (and you can camp). Challenging to easy trails and small mountain villages like Telluride and Ouray, which has a clothing optional hot-springs to even further challenge the faint of heart...

For me, Acadia Nation Park is the closest. In addition, we have the obvious areas to explore such as the Green Mountains in VT and the White Mountains in NH. Less traveled are the Great North Woods of Maine, the Great North Woods of New Hampshire, and Baxter State Park in Maine. As spring arrives in the less-traveled areas think gravel roads with many potholes. Should be a good test for Bronco suspension once my Bronco arrives. The challenges when you get to the North Woods are the black flies and the commercial logging trucks, but it is worth the effort!

If all goes well, my 2021 camping season in Maine begins on March 19. The goal is to craft a series of GAIA GPS trip plans for VT, NH, and ME and begin testing the routes in my F150. If the routes seem to work well, they will hopefully find a place in my Bronco Trail Maps app.
