Hey all! Does anyone know of any good off road trails or backwoods camping spots around the Midwest? Trail maps are fine, but I’m guessing this rad group of humans probably have some sweet hard to find spots that I can’t find myself. Anywhere in Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Iowa, Indiana and honestly, anywhere else in the Midwest! Thanks friends!

Here's a link to a off road park in southeast Kansas. http://www.ksrockspark.com/

Can't wait to explore this.

Here are a couple of places that I know about.
Been to Silver Lakes and it was amazing. You could take the ferry across Lake Michigan and be pretty close. Great way to skip the traffic of Chicago.

Never been there but an Indiana Facebook group has been there several times and love it.

I wish Indiana would facilitate some TRAILS. I put that in all caps because we have hundreds of miles of abandoned railroad tracks, we have horse trails, snowmobile trails, etc., but VERY few offroad trails. I'd love to see some that go through Brown County or other areas. Kentucky used to have the Daniel Boone trails, but I think those got closed up a few years ago. It's hard to differentiate between some ATV/OHV trails and those appropriate for Jeeps/Broncos.

I personally would love to explore some trails that are not 'super' technical. Hills/rocks/mud/water are fine, but I would prefer not to have to winch my way through.

This is a good place to go. The MI dunes are awesome!

I did this last year in the 4runner and it was a lot of fun! Also Michigan has a lot of trails you are allowed on that run in the woods and along power lines that are on the Michigan DNR maps
