I spoke with Ford Marketing today and ask for my Bronco Status which is waiting shipping since 6/10/2022. My dealer is 40 minutes from MAP. I also asked would MAP be shutdown their normal 2 weeks in July and if they are shutdown would Bronco's still be shipped. I was told that Ford marketing has not been notified of any plant showdown in July. I'm not sure I believe them (Just Because of Past situations)

I'm just wondering if anyone or the staff of BN could get an answer on these questions.

I work at Ford and have a friend that works on the line at MAP. MAP is shutting down for 3 weeks. Last day is July 1, 2022. This weekend is a holiday weekend for Ford. Shipping & receiving will remain open which means builds will continue to ship after July 4, 2022.

Great to hear they are going to continue shipping Broncos during shutdown. I hope they can take a serious dent out of the storage lots. (y)

There are over 565 built awaiting shipment in the order tracker app at Bronco6G. That number has been growing every day since mine was built on 06/08/22. Shipping by convoy is ridiculously slow.

Yeah Ford announced this a few weeks ago I think. Two week shutdown of the main assembly line plus a week or so of re-tooling for the new 2023 Ford Ranger. Hoping they can make a big dent in the number of Broncos on the holding lots—would be great for those who have their vehicle on holding lots for the past few months.

Production on the main assembly line resumes for week of 7/25… which is currently my scheduled build week. So I’m (selfishly) hoping that schedule sticks.

Also excited to see the new Ranger… I assume we’ll start seeing pre-production units start rolling down the line soon.

Now it appears to be at 594 via convoy. I haven't seen this number decrease at all. I had hoped to see a dent this morning, but it increased again. This we'll see these decrease next week?

Guys/Gals dont get too excited about the shutdown and thatit will increase shipping. The shipping side has nothing to do with FMC and is solely a carrier and engineer shortage in the shipping industry. The rail industry is about 3-4 weeks behind from a big inside account exec (Hershey, Pepsi etc)

My blend was 6/8. No built email yet, but Ford tells me ETA is 7/22. Not sure what that means though...

I think the only help is MAP isn't adding to the numbers waiting

I know they use Just In Time for production, one would wonder if they use this downtime to keep the suppliers working and stockpile a bit ahead and give themselves a buffer to get more built between now and model year end.

MAP will have a crew working on finishing the builds that are waiting on parts during shutdown and they will continue to ship finished Broncos. They are focused on completing and shipping as many Broncos as possible over the 3 week shutdown. I got this information from 2 MAP employees that work on the line.

Just in time production is the schedule every manufacturer is working with during the supply chain struggle. There is no stockpiling anything anymore.

Part suppliers will continue to build and ship parts during the MAP shutdown. MAP shipping and receiving will remain open. Hopefully they can ramp up production to the max level at restart. At least for a few weeks or so. They are predicting part and chip shortages will be a problem until approximately mid 2023 but that’s an optimistic guess.

Just in Time works great until it doesn't. Then it takes for ever for the kink in the supply chain to work out. It will be a minute, even after they clear the supplier problems, to get this all sorted.
They have to keep MAP running, but they lack all the parts to fully complete and ship trucks out so that's why those numbers keep creeping up, even if they are building less vehicles per month. Its like trying to bail out a boat while someone is bailing water in.

I wonder if that will also apply to builds that are running this week... Would be a bummer if mine is stuck on the line while they are shut down for a change over.
