Just like most of you, I have now been moved to a MY22. Kind of sucks, but it also is allowing me to really focus on what I want. I really want to get what I want…NO SACRIFICES. That being said, My MY21 order was for a Badlands, Hardtop, SAS, 2.7, Lux, Leather, with a tow package. Going to keep the BL, HT, SAS, and 2.7, am getting rid of the Leather (I can get Katz later if I decide I HAVE to have leather). Tow is kind of meh since the Bronco does not have a great tow capacity. The one problem I‘m running into is the decision to go between the High and the Lux packages. My wife definitely wants the 12“ screen so there is no way I can go down to the Mid.
What are your thoughts on the B&O (Wife wants a good sound system, but would it be wiser to upgrade aftermarket?), adaptive cruise and some of the other Lux upgrades? Are they worth the extra $2200? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you live in a cold climate? If so, the heated steering wheel alone should be worth it. LOL!

Well, here's what you get for $2200... I really think it depends on how you plan to use it.
  • Adaptive cruise control -- we have this in our '20 Explorer, and I have to say it's pretty cool on long trips.
  • 10-speaker B&O sound system -- I like to go windows/top down and radio up, so I appreciate this. Reviews on stock/base sound system are 'meh.'
  • Connected built-in navigation system -- We have this on our explorer too, and the built-in Nav kinda sucks, but having it without the phone is nice.
  • Evasive steering assist -- Have not tried to use this yet, but might keep you from overcorrecting?
  • Universal garage door opener -- This is weird to me -- why do you have to get the 'Lux' package for what seems like such a basic feature now?
  • Two additional front-row USB smart-charging ports -- kinda helpful if you have passengers a lot
  • Wireless charging pad -- I really like this, especially with the wireless Sync4.
  • Heated steering wheel -- I live in Indiana. It can get colder than a witches teat here in the winter. I love this!
I also saw this mentioned on an online review of pros and cons:
Coolest Features — The navigation system works a little differently on the Lux Package than it does on the High Package. The High Package has what Ford calls “connected navigation,” which means it can give you a navigation screen, but it needs to get GPS data from your phone. With “connected built-in navigation” on the Lux package, no phone is required, and the navigation system is built into the car.

The universal garage door opener is worth every cent of $2200 for the Lux package!!!!!! ;)

The big reason that I want Lux vs High is for the adaptive cruise control. We drive from Arizona to the Bay Area of California several times a year and the ability to have the cruise control moderate speed for the traffic conditions on the freeways of that journey will be a godsend. I'm also oddly excited about the wireless charging pad for wireless Android Auto. And don't laugh, but despite living in the desert of Arizona, I think the heated steering wheel will be nice. There are going to be days where its beautiful too go topless/doorless while the sun is out, but once the sun goes down it will be really nice to have the heated seats and steering wheel.

Ultimately, its up to you if the features of the lux package are worth it for you.

While the build in universal garage door opener and heated steering wheel could be nice (never had before) I wouldn't get this package just for them. The one thing I have that has spoiled me and I would not want to go without is adaptive cruise. I use it 90% of the time I'm driving and that is the lone reason I'm getting the build I have. I don't even want to figure the total cost of what I'm spending on this one feature. ha.

just recently, I changed my order from a 4 dr 2.7 BadSquatch with High trim interior - removed Sasquatch and upgraded the interior trim to Luxe. My reasoning:
20+ years ago I was in a bad bicycle accident and broke my neck, luckily they were able to put me back together with no severe paralysis (only one of my vocal chords is still paralyzed), but lately, my neck has been really bothering me to the point where I was laid out for 4 days taking muscle relaxers and pain pills, I've got an MRI scheduled this week. I believe the aggravation has been due to my going out off-roading frequently in my ZR2 Bison (which I bought in December), ... the bouncing around and jostling is not good for my neck, unfortunately :( .. so, I realized that as much as I love the look of the Sasquatch package, I won't be able to use the Bronco for as much off-roading as I had initially intended. The Badlands is exceptionally capable on it's own (just as capable as my ZR2) without the Sas package.. so I deleted the Sasquatch package and decided to ball-out on the interior and creature comforts. I know I may not get as much 'street cred' from other Bronco owners because I won't be out there off-roading as hard as them, but I gotta do what's right for me and my health. I'm only 51 - I'd like to think I still have a lot of good years left, and need to take care of my neck.

Bummer about the neck.
Ordered the 2 door with 2.7 so I can run regular and still have decent torque. I'm getting the LUX specifically for the adaptive cruise control and garage door opener. My wife's RAV4 has ACC and for trips from So.Cal to N. Az it's great to have. I have a 2015 Q5 Audi and it does not have the ACC and I'm so sorry I didn't get it at that time.
All the other options are a nice to have, so I'll enjoy them.
I got the BL for the sway bar disconnect but did not get the Sasquatch as I figured at age 70, my extreme days are done, but I like the articulation should I need need it. Also, at two inches lower, my wife and I can get in easier.

So is it worth it? It is to me. You'll need to decide. I figure at $55K, what a couple of K more percentage wise.

It is a tough call, for sure. Used to be you could do one hell of a stereo for $2k, but newer models you can't just change a head unit, sound runs on CAN bus to remote amp then to speakers, hard to just add an amp and/or speakers, easier to get a factory upgrade. Gotta say, I love my Bose stereo and am on the fence if it's worth it for the B&O. I always squawked at cushy things like a heated steering wheel, but last winter I got a new Sierra SLT. When it's 20 degrees, I can crank the truck on my cell phone from the office, by the time I walk to it my seat is warm, the steering wheel is warm, man is that nice! The adaptive cruise control is great 99% of the time, but sucks when A-holes in heavy city traffic cut you off, the truck hits the brakes to regain a safe distance, person behind you swerves and cuts you off, truck hits the brakes again, before you know it you're doing 30 on the interstate with the cruise set to 80, screaming and holding the gas to the floor but the truck won't let you ram anybody.... those problems are exacerbated when towing a heavy trailer. Oh and I don't have a power garage door, so that built in remote doesn't help me.

But basically, I'm the other way, always been a high package order, but now given more time, I'm again debating upgrading to the Lux.

I’m really torn. I live in the Deep South (on the gulf) so I really don’t need the heated steering wheel. The garage door opener? Meh. I hear some comments that the B&O is good. Others that it is horrible. I have adaptive cruise on my wife’s Honda Clarity and you’re right. When a d**k pulls into my lane I have experienced the deceleration to 30. Frustrating. I went to off Roadeo and while going through the course, the phone would get unhooked from the wireless charger. I’m still torn. Got to figure this out, but since I’m a 22 MY, I have absolutely plenty of time (at least until I order in September).

Hey Bronceaux,
I believe the upgrade to Lux is not worth it. Though there have been many good points made in the comments above, overall it is not good value.
- The upgrade to leather seats is a bit mis-leading, because you only get leather trim added. You are better off getting Katz to send you true leather covers.
- The B&O has been discussed a lot on this forum, and the general consensus is that it is not worth it. I would agree. Having spoken to my audio specialist, they can replace all the speakers and add speakers to the doors (with waterproof connects/disconnects) and you will have a way better system that kicks the B&O to the curb, at way less dollars.
- regarding the Nav system, you get three free years of Nav from Ford and after that, you have the High Package version, unless you continue to pay dollars to extend the years.
- USB smart charging ports are really easy to add and at nominal costs.
- Universal garage opening, meh.
- As mentioned, you don't need the heated steering wheel, and even if you did, gloves fix that fast.
- wireless charging, meh. Plug your phone in and you are good to go.

In conclusion, for less money, you will have way better sound, way better seats, and dollars left to buy your wife a beautiful dinner!

I am curious about the B&O stereo too... I recently got rid of my 2016 Mustang that had the Shaker500 system in it, which was adequate for me - I'm curious how the B&O system compares.

So I went with the Badlands, 2.7, Leather, Lux. Having been in a couple now and driven them, top off and on the sound system is really nice. The TOTL cruise is worth it alone. I’m coming from a a high tech Acura RDX and I’m used to it.
That all being said, at the end of the day do you think you’re going to want it later if you don’t get it now? Probably. So just go ahead and do it.

I test drove the Wildtrak and had the B&O running at a low volume. I didn’t turn it up because I was focusing on the drive quality and stuff. It was good for my trip though.

I think it’s a personal choice of if you want and are willing to add the missing stuff via aftermarket, vs just having it. I don’t find the money cost prohibitive. But I’ll be using a lot of those features like heated seats…

If the only real concern is the sound system. Go High and aftermarket like the sound bar or replace the whole system and save money!

One thing I’ve heard is that the wireless charger is pretty solid at keeping your phone good. Wireless charger, but also wireless CarPlay. No wire to suddenly disconnect and poof no more sync’d music from your phone. That might upset the wife too.

Second remember that after a long fat of being in the car off-roading, having that auto-cruise can be nice to keep that “second set of virtual eyes” on the road to stop you from making that d**k a speed bump for your Bronco hahaha I mean your rolling on 35”s haha

The B&O system is really nice. It is calibrated for the vehicle. You won't be disappointed.

I too had a Mustang with a Shaker 1000 and it was nice, but this is really impressive considering the doors and top come off.

For me I am going High Package as I want the 12” and 360 cameras for off roading. I don’t know about the adaptive cruise, my last car did not have cruise at all and I daily drove that 180 miles round trip for 12 years. My new car has it, I used it once to try it out, but it just pissed me off when some a-hole zipped in front of me and I had the dreaded slow down. Never used it again. So the high package for me has the right amount of creature comforts my wife wants and the few things I care about. My perfect build would be a Black Diamond base with 7-speed. And if I could add the 12” and 360 cameras.

I’m in the camp of mostly just wanted adaptive cruise control. Intrigued by the heated steering wheel, as we have fairly cold winters in Indiana. Also not mad about having a place to just toss my phone and it starts charging.
