HOW DOES BASE BRONCO RIDE ON HIGHWAY ROADS?

To go OFF ROAD, most of us must drive ON HIGHWAY ROADS. Yes Bronco is reported built on new Ranger platform. However Ranger has 10" longer wheel base over 4 door 116" wheelbase, but Bronco has all wheels with coil over shocks, not so for Ranger rear solid leaf spring axel. Tires are one on the best way to see how a vehicle will ride. Bridgestore 255/75R16 All Seasons are good riding highway tires. I have two sets one Range Rover Sport with air shocks other on Explorer with all coil over shocks.
Another differeance is Bronco has a five control arms in aluminum, with 3 rod suspension in rear, not leaf sprins, for heavier payloads. Bronco rear susoension is almost same as most good riding passenger vehicles. My 911S has electronic shicks system dampers called PASM . One real stiff for track on for highway, softer ride!

HOSS will run on highway stiffer. This week went to two participating dealer Bronco appearances on Long Island. Michigan plates. One had 35 Goodyear MTR 315/70/17 Sasquatch with HOSS susoension. Not good ON HIGHWAY ROAD rides other with 33 "AT, maybe a better ride. No BRONCO TEAM members stated how the BRONCO rode on highways from Michigan! With national highway in bad repair, like Long Island Expressway, thats a laugth.

So does any member rode in BASE non Sasquatch tires, on Highway roads, that are in good shape, if there are any, maybe Ohio?

I'm not sure that anyone outside Ford has had the opportunity to ride in a base with stock tires. All the ride a longs seem to be with the squatch package or at least 33's. From a lot of the videos that have circulated, it rides unbelievably good on the squatch tires so I would think it would ride really good on the base tires. I guess ride quality is pretty subjective though.

It’s the great unknown question.
Everyone building a Sasquatch should feel very informed .
Any other base model has been ignored to show characteristics by Ford. It’s not by accident, but by “marketing” design.
I am a BD non Sasquatch build.
I have to assume that it is basically a stripped down jeep. Even with the gimmick “goat mode” capabilities.
In the 70s we hunted extensively in western Iowa , Mud,Snow,Ice,creek beds.
Never got stuck in an old stock scout.
I am one of the biggest Bronco enthusiasts here.
I guess I’ll find out.
Perform un enhanced-Keep it.
Underperform compared to earlier models-I’ll sell it in a heartbeat and never look back.
For me Reality is Reality.
Not a bunch of video editing to give a certain perspective.
Still Anxious & Excited ,
But very concerned Ford is afraid to show base capabilities.

I talked to the driver of the non sas Badlands (2 different drivers) and while the Badlands has different suspension than the base he said the ride was great. I'm hoping it's similar in the other models since mine will be a daily driver.

It won't make a difference to me but it would stop me from taking it on long trips just to get out of town like the 8 hour drive to visit my mom.

HOSS will run on highway stiffer.

Just get this right out of your head. Right now.
That is an EXTREMELY common misconception.
True offroad vehicles have very compliant ride, especially rock crawlers.
Redneck Bigfoot wanna be's are what have horrible rides.

EVEREST engineered second generation is a NON-USA T-6 Ranger chassis but has a multi link coil over shocks. Well according to Non-USA writers rides quiet and has Range Rover or Discovery ride qualities, all without air suspension. So why hasn't any magazine writes done First Road tests. A jeep is not a quiet road car like my two Benz S class, but a G is $127,000. Tires have a lot to due with highway noise. Ford test MIC hard top and decided to give free sound deadening ceiling liner, a $495 option. When has Ford given us anything free.

We will never see the DOWN UNDER engineered Everest here. The H.O.S.S. is standard on Base. The optional Bilstens have some gas or fluid reserve tubes, to stiffen off road. I had a Cayenne Turbo air suspension, like my current Range Rover Sport, but PASM dampers on air suspension will stiffen up off road, but you can turn off PASM for smoother highway travel. Have 911s cab with PASM for track settings. Electronic dampers will really stiff up for track, real tight suspensions, but they are a pain, since electronical controlled and sometimes will not go on when engaged.

To me I would have bought the Everest SUV. Same as Bronco off road, but fulltime four wheel like rover, same all coil over springs, just steel not air, same 10 speed transmission and 2.3L in some NON-USA markets, but rounded nose, nice SUV exterior and good highway manners, ride an noise levels. Nobody , but Bronco Team member have driven the horse or mule as they say DOWN UNDER!

I think it would be wise to actually ride in a new Bronco before saying what Ford should have done. You have already determined the ride is going to be worse than an Everest. I think it is going to ride a lot better than you think.

When I was at the bronco event last Saturday, I asked that question to all 3 people representing. They all said “ comfortable, good feed back and road feel. Could drive it all day comfortably.

There aren't any highways in good shape in Michigan. The pavement suddenly smooths out when you drive across the border into any other state. I used to think Pennsylvania roads were horrible until moving here.
