Got Rubicon?

This past summer a group of Broncos from the East Coast and Texas joined up with some California Broncos to run the Rubicon Trail in Northern California. It was an awesome trip. We spent 2 days on the trail and camped overnight at Buck Island Lake. We ran the trail from the Tahoe entrance to the southwest exit so we came down Cadillac Hill instead of going up it. What a great trail! I thought I would be a bit disappointed because of the the hype about the Rubicon. I can assure you I was not disappointed at all. The trail is not that difficult, but the obstacles never let up! The scenery is fantastic, and while we were there we also ran Fordyce Trail.

Here are some pics of the adventure!

We need to get this organized and scheduled it’s definitely a must and I can start the dialog with NorCal Broncos Club just need to be mindful with this Pandemic so masks for all vehicles is required and no tailgating.
It’s time to live again but never forget the ones we lost!

Check out the Slick Rock post for scheduled trip September 17-19, 2020. I know it’s not The Rubi but Slick Rock is challenging and always a great run.

When it’s not snowing!
June until September is ideal and when there are scheduled events makes for a great trip.

Well, that puts this year out. Probably better with this Covid 19 problem. Would be good to start pans for next year. Where is there a good list of maps, hotels, camping, etc.?

I can help plan this trip! I know that area pretty well. Does anyone know who planned it last year? Was it coordinated through a different forum?

It was planned by a couple of SoCal Bronco folks to take some East Coast and Texas Broncos on the 'Con for the first time. It wasn't coordinated through any forum.

I am going to put something similar to the attached together minus all the rules and regulations. It has some good information on lodging, directions, recommendations for packing, a trail map, etc.

Let me know what dates we want to start considering.

I've done the Rubicon on a stock Wrangler with the Jeep Jamboree folks and had a blast with a 2 day / one overnight trip. Am looking to now buy the Badlands in 2021 and do it with a Bronco. Really interested if anyone is organizing a future (summer 2021?) event over the trail.
