Anyone aware of the issues with the Ecoboost engines leaking coolant into the cylinders? This is the first I have heard about it?

You probably need to visit one of the forums for the vehicles that use that engine .
"
The complaint alleges that certain vehicles equipped with 1.5L, 1.6L, or 2.0L Ford EcoBoost engines are affected by the defect, including:

• 2013-2019 Ford Escapes
• 2013-2019 Ford Fusions
• 2015-2018 Ford Edges
• 2017-2019 Lincoln MKC
• 2017-2019 Lincoln MKZ"

I'd be worried about keeping my pistol in the car more than anything .

"As a result of the alleged defect, the complaint asserts that there is not enough coolant in the engine to cool it, which can cause overheating leading to cracked cylinder heads, corrosion, damage to pistols and other internal components, engine seizure, or engine fire. "

The Bronco Sport will use the 1.5L and the 2.0L, correct? I would hope they have the issue figured out by the time they used them in the 2020 vehicles.

Yes , I was just suggesting no one here would probably know any details but the owners of those vehicles currently using the engines would. I would also hope they have corrected the issue by now , but the lawsuit suggest they have known all along and haven't done anything. Of course just because there is a lawsuit doesn't mean they actually have a problem. People sue all the time . If I were going to buy a Bronco sport I would surely be searching those other car forums though.

Not great news for Sport buyers, hopefully the kinks have been worked out. I think the 2.3 and 2.7 should be ok.
