Yep, All legitimate race events will have you sign a waiver stating that they or the insurance company are not liable if damage is occurred.

I'm just glad everyone was ok. They were fortunate. I have seen wrecks where NO airbags went off and were just as bad if not worse. The vehicle did exactly as it was designed to do. I understand a lot of people (if not most) love their cars - A LOT. However, I tell my customers this one key thing: It's just a vehicle. A material object that can be either repaired or replaced. Be thankful you have your life for I can't fix or replace you. (I told this to a young girl who's VW Beetle was in my shop and she was crying a lot and her mom was with her. I just hugged her and told her, "you're alive. The car can be fixed or replaced, but you can't be replaced. Do you understand what I am saying?" and she nodded and hugged me even tighter after that and told me thank you. My background is Auto Body shop - I'm an estimator.
