In 2020, Bronco Nation bundled up to film a recreation of a scene done decades prior: Ford freezing a Bronco. We’d like to resurface this video as we wish you a merry Christmas and happy New Year!

The Backstory

In 1968, Ford froze the original Bronco in the Ford Product Development’s cold room labs. Santa Claus stopped by Dearborn and checked it out to make sure the "Goes Over All Terrain 4x4" was ready for his needs. Those pictures never were used in any marketing material for Ford and remained only in the archives.

More than 50 years later, Ford remade the never-before-seen classic. Bronco Nation’s Jon Melton went behind the scenes in the 30-degrees below zero cold room and captured some video from the day. In the remake, Santa’s sled is a 2021 Bronco 2-door Outer Banks with Sasquatch package, Safari Bar, and Modular Front Bumper. Of course, the ice-covered Gen 6 Bronco is lacquered in holiday-fitting Race Red clear coat.

Watch the video for an inside look at what the all-new Bronco went through. You might think of this chilly experience as you warm up your vehicle this winter!
