I have a 1982 Ford Broncos XLT Lariat that has been in our family (previous my father in law's vehicle) since 1982. I am in the process of restoring this gem. It runs (needs a tune up) but for the most part, all it needs is cosmetic items. Such as painting the exterior. I need to remove / polish down some surface rust spots, then paint. This Broncos is two tone creamy white and lite reddish tan. Very attractive. Does anybody know the pair colors on this unit, and where I can purchase the paint? I live in a very rural area, and my local ford dealership does not have data this far back.

there is a paint code on the data plate in the door jamb you will need to buy the paint at a auto paint store

I would need a picture to be able to tell you the color. Ford offered 5 different reds and 3 off-white colors in the 1980s, so without a picture it would be difficult to nail down the correct colors. If I were to guess based purely off of your description, the red is probably Bittersweet Glow, and the white is probably Fawn.

Also, to @Cornwelltoolman's point, the paint color codes are probably on the sticker in the door jam.

I thought the paint codes on the older fords were stamped on a tag under the hood. I could be wrong. It sucks getting old.
