I will start with the first question. I am upgrading just the speakers in my black diamond bronco. I will be installing 4'" 4ohm speakers in the front and back. I will also be installing 6.5 speakers in the kick panels these speakers are also 4 ohms. My question is can the Factory 8" sound system support these speakers since this is a series wiring. I do not want to install an AMP at this time. Will this setup be okay without hurting anything. Here are the speakers I am installing

4- 4" Alpine TYPE S-S40 2-WAY COAXIAL SPEAKERS 140W PEAK 45W RMS
2- 6.5 ALPINE TYPE S SPS-17C2 250WPEAK 50W RMS

If you're looking for just a clearer sound off those replacements speakers an additional 8 inch is not necessary. I did replaced all of the speakers of my Bronco with Pioneer speakers I am somehow satisfied with the results but I'm planning to add aa amplified subwoofer using the high input connections just add some punch on that bass sounds. Someone suggested a forscan to change the configuration of the ACM and I am not familiar with it so I will just pass on that one.

There is a lot of info here and at the other Website. Mattwings has been nice enough to help educate us. Replacing the front and back speakers, and putting a bass blocker on the positive lead of the dash speaker appears to help alot. I have ordered the bass blockers, and 4" Infinity speakers from Amazon, they are on the way. My Bronco is the railyard at San Diego awaiting someone to put it on a truck and drive it 10 miles to the dealer. I will let you know how the speaker upgrade goes although there are numerous others who have replaced the garbage 4" Vietnamese paper speakers and all say it helps a lot.
Later I will work on the 6.5" and a likely compact powered sub. First I have to get the truck I reserved 685 days ago.....

Here's what I did for $150 in less than 2 hours. Totally worth it:

I may get a powered compact sub in the future, but for now this was no brainer to me..thanks to Mattwings for his previous comments and help!

@Laura

Repeat post

Thank you for telling us the Base Bronco will get a well needed seventh subwoofer speaker in 2023. So what about all the Base 21-22 Broncos.

Well Ford accessories catalogue is still 2022 and if you ask them with your vin# they try to upsell $800.00 roll bar pricey subwoofer.

On dealer in Florida had the B&O subwoofer sound box subwoffer say 3 1/2" for rear cargo passenger side.

However, as usual, Ford does no install the harness for it to work in the Base! Also the radio or body power module may have to have codes changed to let the system know to send power to that retro installed subwoofer. To wire off left rear speaker will not work, since the subwooffer need a hot 8 AWG and some have run to battery.

One fellow used auxiliary switch #6 10 Amp but 1.5 ISO (16AWG) so he could disconnent subwoofer.

Here is my questions:
1. Is the 23 Base just getting the B&O harness and rear cargo spot B&O $300.00 subwooffer ?
2. In retro fit can an auxiliary 1.5 ISO point #7 be used to power a retro seventh speaker?
3. Most Base or non- B&O owners have replaced most of the real cheap paper speakers, roll bar are easy, no so for kick plates nor dash, but no plug&play connectots availabke from Ford. Why? $$$$$$

At this point go to an aftermarket car audio specialist. Let them deal with the nightmare. That’s what they are paid for. Unfortunately purchasing a more base model has both its advantages and disadvantages.

I 2nd the motion...go to a car audio specialist--they'll be the best source of info on wiring for and adding an aftermarket or Ford branded subwoofer before you set your Bronco on fire by wiring up some frankenstien mobile with this and your towing pkg wiring.

As for you other questions, the first 2 really can't be answered here until people start getting the MY23 in their driveways. As for the last question about the wiring harnesses, contact the manufacturers like Metra, Red Wolf, etc directly and ask them--the people on this board don't make them.

Went to "highly recommended" stereo shop in Santa Clarita TODAY to see what I could do to my base system past the speaker replacements I've already done: (Santa Clarita Autosound)
What a disappointment.
Me: Yes I want to find out about upgrading my 2022 Bronco stock stereo system
Salesperson: You want to change out the stereo?
Me: ON A BRAND NEW BRONCO? It has a computer screen with display, maps, phone, everything in it, NO not the stereo (I already disappointed this guy doesn't know shit.)
We go out to the truck.
Me: DO you know anything about this stereo system?
Salesdude: What do you want to know?
Me: I want to know WHAT YOU KNOW about this trucks stereo? I know everything.
Salesdude: Uh no.
Me: got a technician I can talk to that knows about stereos?
Salesdude: Uh no but Ill get the manager she might know
5 minutes later she comes out:
We go thru the same routine. She doesn't know shit.
No technician there.
Ok thanks, bye.
THAT WAS DISAPPOINTING.
After consulting with 2 stereo shops who don't know shit it
looks like I'm going with Forscan change to back speakers, tapping into the rear inputs to mount and install and compact powered sub and then decide if I get an amp and change out the front 6" kick panels. I'll post when I do it.
