Dealer from hell, Ford customer service is no help.

I asked Ford customer service how many blood sacrifices I’d have to make to Henry’s divine spirit to change dealerships, and they essentially told me “sucks to be you but there’s nothing we can do. Your dealer should’ve done x, y and z”.

I worked (hard emphasis on “worked” past tense) for this dealership and the Bronco specialist was so lazy yet so possessive of orders that I couldn’t see anything, just had to take his word for it.

The only correspondence I’ve had is the Ford emails. So, two. Reservation number and order number confirmation.

I do not know the final price of my BD.
I do not know if the accessories/ specs were ordered right.
I do not know what my priority code is.
I literally don’t know anything. And when I think about how I’m paying this guy commission to screw up my order and deliver terrible customer service, my blood pressure goes up. I literally just have to hope and pray that my Bronco gets delivered and it’s at least the right color and the right price for the features and accessories. I bet $100 that they don’t call me when it arrives and they let other people test drive it before I find out. Because that’s happened to other customers before at that dealership on their ordered vehicles.

Sorry for ranting, I’m just angry that Ford will not let me pick up the vehicle at a dealership down the road instead.

Sorry, but this is on you. You chose the dealer at reservation time. Had plenty of time to change dealers. You did not do your due diligence on a what, $50,000 purchase? Most of us have had our deals locked in before order was placed. Someone else will be driving your Bronco down the road and you will be sucking eggs...

I was still working there up until right after the deadline for dealership changes. For sake of professionalism I won’t go into detail how bad it was behind the scenes, but take my word for it when I say I was trying to be as diligent as possible and management was not running things as they should. They’ve gotten into a lot of trouble recently for bad practices and it was like pulling teeth. I had my build sheet with build codes written out for the Bronco specialist at the time of order, and when I asked to have his order confirmation printed out he AND the GM said there was no need because it was the same as what I had given them. And I know for a fact he had messed some things up originally because he relayed what he had on his computer and I had to correct him on a few specs, pressing him for information again, before he submitted the order batch in February.

So they had you by the short hairs, they are continuing to use you ... Now I'm sympathetic...

I’m not trying to be spiteful or vindictive to them, but they’ve made taking the high road incredibly difficult. From serious HR complaints/allegations to state licensing violations they’ve done a lot wrong and literally all I want is to get my BD shipped to a different dealer who will be patient and honest while ordering/scheduling any corrections to parts and accessories.

Hopefully your diligence at the time pays off and you get what you wanted. Knowing how I feel about my order all the uncertainty would make me crazy. Hang in there!!

I can relate, they were using my Focus as a demo for a weekend before they told me it was in. (special order)

I feel you! My order got scheduled today and I was supposed to be 99 priority code and had made changes last week that the dealership didn't bother to put in. So now I'm stuck waiting to see if they can change it, I'm not holding my breath, or look at the one they ordered and see if I want it. If I don't I can go to the bottom of their list after it arrives, probably sometime in September. I was very clear upon ordering that I wanted a MY22 with a white top and slide-out tailgate.

But they were my third dealership to try and order through and the only one that would even attempt to order my Bronco for me.

One of the sales managers got caught screwing an order up on a new $60,000 SUV and got really pissy when I (politely and subtly) called him out on it... swore up and down it wasn’t the one they ordered and it was being demo’d for two weeks at that point. Showed him the email chain and then he had the nards to try and push the blame on me/ other salesmen when the customers came back asking why 3 phones had already been paired and why there was already 200 miles on the vehicle when he should’ve notified them as soon as it arrived on the truck.
I swear not every dealership is like them, but they’re exactly how dealers get a bad rep. I consider myself fortunate to be working for one of the rare dealers now who’ve been in business for 40+ years and whose salesmen often retire out of the business. Not working around low-performing bums who hop from lot to lot every other year.

Update: called another dealership (recommended in this thread) and unfortunately they can’t do a courtesy delivery on the Broncos. He was super helpful though and gave me a few pointers on how to deal with this going forward. I told him if Ford changes their mind by the fall when I hope my Bronco gets off the assembly line, we will be in touch so I can do business with them instead.

Have you tried contacting Mike Levine? Not sure it would help and it could open up a can of worms but it may be worth a shot. Not sure what he would think about you being a GM salesman now but I can't imagine the situation could get any worse.

Even if I were to get ahold of him, I don’t want to put myself in the limelight like that.
I’m going to call Ford customer service and ask for an emailed copy of the order invoice. If they give that to me I’ll come armed with it when my delivery arrives. That way if they try to sneak other features in that aren’t supposed to exist (such as rock rails, which is just one example. I had to correct him on the fact that it is not an added $$ on the BD and that the Ford order workups say they come standard in the price) I can then correct my purchase price and go on my way.

The fact I don’t want him to earn my business and make money off me is just petty at this point. A legitimate customer concern, but petty none the less.

I’m also going to do my best to use FordPass rewards points which would only add up to $500 or so, but it’s leverage I guess. Because it’s dealership-dependent whether or not they’ll use FPR points on vehicle purchases. With that said, Ford will penalize a dealership who doesn’t complete order deliveries. The counter point to that is, rumor has it this dealership is going under anyway. They might not care about getting penalized if they’re getting new owners/management anyways. Idk. That’s all speculative.

Another update: Ford can’t see my order invoice. I have to get it through the dealer. The rep felt terrible and tried with different departments but unfortunately they can’t see order details at their level.

Update #2:

Last week I emailed the dealership asking for the order invoice. Never heard anything back, so I called Ford and asked if they could inquire this morning. Still nothing.

I’m beyond irritated. It takes five minutes to pull the order and email it. Idk what to do at this point besides wait in limbo and try not to let my blood boil about it.

Can you go sit in the lobby and demand it until they get it printed for you? I wish I had done that because now I'm getting a bronco that's the wrong color and is missing stuff I ordered.

I do not want to give them any reason to pull some weird dramatic move. Since I used to work there, they could just as easily say I’m a disgruntled former employee and that they will cancel my order altogether. My husband is due for an oil change on his truck soon though, I hate for him to do my dirty work but they’re more likely to cooperate if he says he needs it for me if he goes up to the receptionist desk while he’s in for service.

Idk. I’m going to give it another day or so before doing anything else.

Have you put any $$ down to secure your order? If so, demand to see the order invoice at a minimum.
