Has anyone found a way to fix a cracked dash without completely removing it? Dash by screws close to windshield has cracks around the screws and other minor areas> just trying to prevent it getting worse and still look good.

Here is the only one I have right now. There are other cracks along the dash.

Wow! That’s unacceptable. Do you have any idea what could have caused it?

Man if that is the original dash and that is the only cracking? Pretty good mileage out of it!

Honestly with a lot of stuff like this, messing with it can just cause more problems. But I’m not really familiar with the 4th gens in particular, there may be an epoxy or something like that you could use.

I know a lot of people that fix stuff like that but they always take the dash apart to do it. Let us know if you find a solution. Sorry I know that wasn't helpful

This is the kind of thing that there’s no quick fix. It has to com out. If you remove it, remove the screw and tape the cracked pieces so they don’t disappear.

It's a legacy vehicle and sun rot is very common in older vehicles

Sun Damage. It has been sitting for 21 years. Only 18950 original miles. Paint is toast but only minor rust and only rusted thru by the rain rails over each door. Fixing that asap.Interior besides dash is immaculate

As someone who owned an older Ford truck that had a cracked dash pad, I'll say that unfortunately no... the way yours looks is likely not 'fixable' without either removing and re-upholstering or replacing the pad. However, they do sell dash mats or covers online that allow you to 'cover it up' which won't fix it, but will clean up the look a little bit -- assuming you don't want to mess with replacing it right now. It's not perfect, but it might look better than the cracked/broken pad for less $$. They aren't too expensive... just google your year and 'dash cover' or 'dash mat'.

The cover will provide protection from the sun as well so it, hopefully, won’t get any worse. For that age vehicle that dash looks pretty darn good to me.

There is a company out that makes dash caps to go over the existing dash pad.

I found one, saw these on one of the gear head programs on Saturday morning.

People there are other broncos besides these mid sized ones ford is trying to produce now.
On to the OP. This is common now that most of these dashes are quite old. The real problem is these screw areas are one of the many mounts for the dash and once they crack they continue to loosen and crack more and the dash gets rattlier and rattlier.
The are caps, but those are just covers. The underlying structure of the dash is breaking and deteriorating.

The plastic used on the dash is really difficult to repair and get a good bond to and at this age tends to be very brittle and stiff. Occasionally, decent dash parts come up on ebay and once in a great awhile someone is selling an entire dash. I wish I grabbed a dash from a junk yard way way back and stored it. Had no idea this would be a problem, but you know 25+ year old vehicles have lots of little things that need addressing. There was a place that most of the interior part available at one time, but I don't think I they ever had dashes listed.
