Took my Bronco to the farrier on Monday for some new shoes. The New Mexico rocks we’re doing a number on the sidewalls of the factory grabbers so I decided it was time to upgrade. Went with Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T LT255/85R17. They fill the wheel wells nicely and don’t ride that much harsher. No rubbing on the stock non sas BD suspension with crash bars still installed. May be removing the front bars soon as it looks like it may rub under full compression. Also installed the rough country tailgate reinforcement, spare tire relocation and third brake light relocation. Tip for anyone installing the tailgate reinforcement, remove the gas strut first. Was not mentioned in the instructions but even with the swing gate shimmed it jumped all the way to the left when I took the hinge bolts out. Took way longer than I wanted to get the strut removed and the gate realigned at that point. Now I just need to figure out some extensions for the rubber tire supports as they are no where close to the tire after moving it 2 inches out and installing a slightly narrower tire. Can’t wait till I get some time off to get them dirty.
