Has anyone else purchased and installed the Bronco cargo area security drawer? For some reason the threaded holes for the tie down relocation points seem to have been tapped for the wrong size threads. I cannot use the bolts included with the drawer. Has anyone else had this issue?

Mine installed just fine. Check if its the bolts are wrong and not the holes. Might be able to find some at yhe hardware store. Or use the factory bolts and forego putting the tiedowns back on the drawer.

No issues here. Bolted right in. There's a couple sets of holes to choose from, make sure you are using the right ones.

Is this practical to remove if you need the full cargo area?? I know the full enclosure is but it seems like a PITA to do.

Let me clarify, it is the threaded holes on
top of the drawer that are incorrect, not those on body of the truck.

Bit of an aside. What is the weight? I couldn’t find it listed on the Ford site.

It's not too bad. I'd say yes.

I did get this. It’s nice. Doesn’t rattle. I have trouble pushing the button it’s tight. My only real complaint is the exposed area where it mounts. Going to be a big crap catcher. Wish the plastic caps that came off were meant to pop back in place. Might have to fabricate something.

Drill a 1/2 hole in the factory trim piece and reinstall before bolting the drawer in.

Mine went in according to the instructions. Are you using the factory bolts to hold the box? Or for the D rings on top?20220131_161714.jpg

I ended up re-tapping the holes. I think the threads got painted over.

Use the bar that came with it for covering the front. It looks better.

Every one of my bolts stop turning, then broke the nuts free that were mounted in the enclosure. I used a pair of vice grips to hold the nuts while I removed each bolt, popped the nut out of there with the vice grips, then installed the correct nut and washer. I have not determined if there is a thread mismatch between the built-in nuts and supplied bolts, but that must be what happened.

I used the factory bolt for thebox and the supplied bots for the D-rings. Dont know if there been a change in manufacturing or what?
