Ford has put the Bronco Reservation Program on pause and is now recommending that interested buyers that don't have a reservation or order work directly with dealers. See below for more info and FAQs.

Subject: Bronco Vehicle Specialist Special Announcement | Bronco Vehicle Reservation Paused

Based on Dealer Council feedback, effective Monday, August 23rd, Ford has paused the creation of new reservations for Bronco vehicles. The decision to pause reservations is due to the high number of Bronco 2 and 4-door model orders and current commodity constraints.
Customers are encouraged to work directly with their dealer who can help with the ordering process, delivery timing expectations, and build specifications. For example, dealers can best guide if a customer may be able to get a stock vehicle that’s already built or scheduled. Due to the high number of orders, delivery of Bronco vehicles placed today will extend through 2022 calendar year.

We will communicate a plan to reopen reservations when available.

DEALER ACTION REQUESTED
Please check to make sure your Dealership tier 3 website and advertising initiatives are no longer promoting Bronco Reservations.
Advertising and promotional material should be updated to encourage customers to talk to their Dealer about placing an order

FAQs
  • Why did Ford shut-off reservations for the Bronco™ 2dr/4dr models? Due to the high demand, we’re temporarily pausing reservations for Bronco vehicles. Customers interested in a Bronco vehicle should contact their dealer.
  • Can a customer place an order for a Bronco vehicle if they do not have a reservation? Yes, customers are encouraged to work directly with their dealer who can help with the ordering process, timing and options. For example, a customer may be able to get a vehicle that’s already built or scheduled. Due to the high number of orders, delivery of Bronco vehicle orders placed today will extend through 2022 calendar year.
  • If a customer already has a reservation for a Bronco vehicle but has not converted it to an order yet, can they still place an order? Yes. Dealers can convert existing reservations to orders with customer consent.
  • What Bronco model configurations can be ordered? Customers can order any Bronco model that is available on the Bronco build and price website. Please see the attached recommended builds that will likely be produced quicker based ongoing commodity constraints.
  • I have a customer with an early reservation, how can I ensure they are being prioritized? The scheduling system will continue to pull orders based on customers reservation timestamp. As the systems runs out of buildable orders because of commodities, it will move down the list until it finds an order that is buildable. Scheduling prioritizes retail orders with a timestamp first, retail orders without a timestamp second, and stock orders last.
  • When will Ford reopen reservations for Bronco vehicles? We will provide an update once more information is available.
  • When will dealers be able to place retail orders for the 2022 MY Bronco vehicle? WBDO will open in Q4, more information on timing will be provided soon.

IE: We know dealers have models that they will sell you for a crazy mark-up and we want to make the dealers happy instead of our reservation holders! Get one now if you want to pay the price!!

It seems strange for Ford to leave potential buyers in limbo for who knows how long. Those that were going to place a reservation are still going to do that ( or at least whatever it is called in the future). Those that are going to walk on the lot and pay big markups could do that before so why make this change before MY22 ordrering is actually available?? I'm one in limbo as I was just about to reserve when the process changed. I'll just wait it out and order the MY22.

I am not surprised - my personal take on this is that the parts availability is so fluid and constraints so high that Ford no longer has any confidence in their ability to produce to orders!

I'd like Ford to actually say that they will build and ship my Bronco I reserved over a year ago , as soon as parts are available and that dealer allocation doesn't matter .

Ford just announced they are suspending their return-to-work program. I think that means they will continue with the employees they have, but won't be ramping anything up too much, as many of their employees will be staying home until at least January.

Ford should have shut down new orders months ago. And focused on taking care of the orders already placed

I have mixed emotions concerning the hiatus.
On one hand, keeping the reservation system active resembled filling a bucket with a fire hose. On the other hand, many members of the Bronco and Ford communities have worked hard to share what they have created with pride. It must have been a bitter sweet moment and another difficult realization.

Hey @BuzzyBud has anyone verified if the hiatus is just for the Bronco or all Ford products?

I'm surprised they waited this long to do that. Given the volume of orders abandoned at delivery and becoming dealer stock, and the number of people reserving 4 door soft tops because it's the only thing you can get soon, if left to continue, the result will be lots flooded with 4 door soft tops. Excess supply would drop the value, potentially impacting the value of all Broncos.

Hey @BuzzyBud has anyone verified if the hiatus is just for the Bronco or all Ford products?

I believe the hiatus applies to only the Bronco. Currently (8/26), the only Ford vehicle with an active reservation system is the F150 Lightning. Time will tell if Ford places that program on hiatus as well. For those who seek an F150 Lightning, now might be a good time to complete the reservation process.
