What do you think a Bronco is.....for?

Ok so no one needs a reason to buy anything in this country...if you want to buy a Bronco to go to the grocery store and back that’s fine. That’s your business. However.....if I could just get your attention to focus collectively for a moment on what you think the heart of the Bronco is....basically it’s mission... what is it to you?
-recreational fun toy?
-survival vehicle?
-utilitarian rig?
-grocery getter?

for me it would be the Swiss Army knife of vehicles... all capable transportation that can get me through whatever life throws at me....more utilitarian than recreational....and I am talking about what I envision a reboot to be like....as many will see what I’ve done to mine is purely recreational but it can be quickly adapted to this vision...how bout you? What will be the mission for your rig?

Toy... I want a convertible, but also want to be able to drive it in the winter. I made the mistake of buying a Jeep once and won’t be doing that again.

Depends on which bronco. My pretty much original 66 u14, gets weekend driven, parades, etc. The 71' for the trails, rocks, etc, if it gets scratched or dented, oh well. Still haven't convinced myself to buy the new one yet. We may price a new one, then take that money and go buy a nicely restored Explorer or Ranger with A/C and daily drive it.

That feeling you get on a warm summer day driving on a back road with your arm out the window - that's what it's REALLY for.

Practically-speaking, I want a fun SUV that I can haul stuff to the dump with on Saturday and take to Rausch Creek on Sunday, then road trip up to Watkins Glen on Monday.

Swiss Army knife is a good way to describe it.

I want a daily driver for my family that I can have fun with. I had to stop riding motorcycles due to health issues so the Bronco will be sort of a replacement for that. Take the top and doors of when I want. Take it out on the beach to surf fish. Light trail riding and camping. I'm not interested in rock crawling or beating the hell out of a $40+ vehicle.

I'm looking forward to a Swiss army knife vehicle that doesn't have my butt hanging out from under the hood every other time I try to drive it lol. I get a company truck with my new job so I'm finally able to get something fun to drive every day. Having a removable top makes for some fun weekends as well ;)

I want a sports utility that I can throw my mountain bike or my fishing gear in the back with the top down and still crush the insane winter conditions Minnesota is known for. I also want to use it everyday. Rock crawling not so much but I still might try an off road park.

In short I want a car that's fun to drive all the time but will the two door manual I covet be big enough in the back?

I have a 2011 5.0 mustang for a fun sports car that still have some practicality with a back seat.

I have a 2002 F-150 for a work truck to take care of all of house project hauls

I want a new Bronco to basically be the family SUV equivalent of the Mustang. Looks like it will have the cool looks and cultural appeal of a Jeep with the performance to back it up and the Ford quality to surpass it

It’s for freedom. Freedom to roam, freedom to explore. A vehicle that you can drive to and from work. Then take the family out on the trails on the weekend, camping, fishing, or just playing. Open up that top on sunny warm days. A vehicle that you can be proud of !! This vehicle is the perfect balance for coping with this imperfect life!! Can’t wait to have one spec’d out and sitting in my driveway!!(y)

My 71 is my let’s go for a fun cruise, camping or off-roading truck. It does not tow and even though i want to drive it daily it’s not a daily, but sometimes it tries to be one. If the new bronco is all that it will become my daily and camping truck. I hope it can tow my 71 bronco that will be amazing. I might off-road it but not as hard as my 71. But until we see and know how great it will be or can be we will not know for sure.

To fulfill a dream 16 years in the making. When I saw the 2004 Bronco concept, I wanted it and looked forward to it being made. We all know what happened since. My wife and I are closing in on being empty-nesters. We are looking forward to driving a convertible that can go on dirt roads. I'm looking at the 2-door, because like the Jeep, that is the way a Bronco is supposed to be. We will drive through the mountains, go over dirt roads, drive over curbs, get groceries, bug-out, whatever we need or want to do. I like the look of the first gen Broncos and like SUVs in general. My vehicle history: 1981 Toyota Corolla, 1985 Mazda RX-7, 1985 Camaro Z28, 1995 Isuzu Rodeo (brand new), 2007 Nissan Frontier (brand new), 2011 Ford F-150 (brand new) and hopefully 2021 Ford Bronco...

I have had several early Broncos 74, 76. Now I have several jeep wranglers 97, 2007. I want a truck that will haul me and small crew up to my mining claim at 13,000 feet in the mountains of colorado. As well as snow driving and commuting to work the other 9 months a year.
Wranglers are okay, just tired of fixing yearly.
Old Broncos have become to special to abuse.
Looking and trying for a new choice.

Like Swiss Army knife metaphor. Will need an off-road capable vehicle that could tow a small travel trailer and do a lot of truck chores. That said, I might need to hold out for the Bronco truck.

To me the main selling point of a vehicle like a bronco is adventure, hunting boom Bronco, fishing boom bronco, you wanna go on cross country overland trip boom broncos got your back. I mean there is a reason the wrap on the camo broncos running around having icons of skiing and hiking and such. Plus removable roof and doors

Answering B4 reading others posts'. For me MY BRONCO will be yard1.jpg210th_drift.jpgKN_4.jpgfor:
-Nasty NW Iowa snow drifts
-Topless and doorless 7 and 6 months respectively
-Needs to look AWESOME both open and covered up
-Not that I am paranoid but a capable SHTF vehicle will be a plus. I used to hard core wheel the 2000 TJ but w/ this JK I have neither the time nor the $$ needed. HOWEVER it is a Rubi because I might be slightly paranoid!
-We also do a bit of camping so getting from here to there and not worrying about getting out is very helpful to allow us to relax.

This! Nicely said.

For me it’s three things:

#1 Commuter. It’s gotta have good on-road performance and be comfortable to drive. The top-off options are cool when it’s time to take the back roads. It also has to look bad-ass when dropping the kids off at school (for their street cred lol).

#2 Adventurer. It has to facilitate our outdoor lifestyle. It will be a camping basecamp when it’s time to get away from campgrounds. It will be a way to get to some great MTB trails, hunting grounds, and remote fishing locations- all while carrying a family’s worth of bikes, kayaks, SUP’s, tents, coolers, etc. over everything from sand dunes to fire roads to no roads.

#3 Toad. It has to be able to be towed behind a Class A to facilitate role #2 in locations across the US. I’m so tired of everyone rolling around in Jeeps behind their RV’s, it’s time to change the landscape.
