The 2021 Ford Bronco has scooped up another award: the prized NACTOY Utility Vehicle of the Year. Bronco beat out the Genesis GV70 and the Hyundai IONIQ 5.

The independent and jury-judged NACTOY Awards honor excellence in innovation, design, safety, performance, tech, driver satisfaction, and value. Awards are chosen through a series of three votes by a group of 50 automotive journalists from an array of magazines, newspapers, websites, and television and radio stations in the U.S. and Canada.

According to NACTOY, "jurors were won over by the ruggedness and return of the Ford Bronco."

“The Ford Bronco is a home run, a credible competitor to the Jeep Wrangler that also bears the looks and electronic wizardry to take on the more expensive Land Rover Defender," says The Detroit News auto critic Henry Payne. "If the Bond bad guys had had the Bronco’s Sasquatch package, ol’ James might have been in trouble.”

Kelley Blue Book executive editorial director Jack R. Nerad also had high words for the vehicle we love: “The Ford Bronco delivers on the promise of its legendary name. Instead of giving the public a lukewarm placeholder with a nostalgic logo, Ford has pulled out the stops to create a very credible competitor to that other four-letter off-road brand.”

"Today’s winners represent our collective opinion of the best of what’s available to customers right now," says NACTOY President Gary Witzenburg, "and we sincerely congratulate the automotive industry on a very impressive year.”

Congratulations to Ford and the Bronco team!
