I have been endlessly reading forums, scoping the web and trying to determine the best mods or accessories for my soft top 2022 Bronco Outerbanks. My goal is to have it set up so that weekend camping adventures are easier and require less set up at destination. I've seen a lot of information as to hardtop camping accessories, but not as much as to soft top. In an ideal world, I would prefer to have a quick rooftop pop up, but this does prevent me from putting back my soft top. Any suggestions as to the best additions for a soft top to put a roofrack and tent pop up? If not that option, any others? I'd rather not sleep inside the vehicle with it open overnight (I do have the extended gate), and don't like the rear tent attachments for the soft top based on some of the videos I have seen. I do have a good tent, but the idea is to minimize set up and breakdown once I reach the camping location.

Not much you can do that will keep the soft top functionality. Maybe one of the Gobi racks? They are supposed to have quick releases that will allow the whole rack to pivot, but Im not sure how that would work with a roof-top tent.

Personnaly, while I like the snazzy of the quick set-up, I am not a fan of roof-top tents because of the ladder. I dont like the up and down when inevitably have to get up in the middle of the night.

You might think about a camping trailer with a roof top tent. The bonus there is you can also move a lot of your gear storage to trailer. Whole load of options there.

We were ground tent camping for a long time (we being me, the spouse, two young kiddos and the pups) and that got to be a real drag with all the gear in the vehicle- (I would put the kiddos in the car and pack around them).

We ended up going with a light-weight camper (a taxa cricket to be exact) and that has been an awesome change. All the gear is stowed nicely and quick set up at the camp site. Downside is I am towing something, so that limits how I get to a site, but its easy to unhook once we get there.
