So Im sort of new to these type of cars (open air).

Any wrangler owners want to help me out here? basically im worried that if im ever caught in a downpour in my badlands , the super sexy black/brown leather will get stinky and moldy. But the marine vinyl sounds like it could solve this problem. Anybody got experience with the wranglers with different upholstery?

I had a 4-Door Call of Duty Edition Wrangler that had the leather trimmed seats. I never had any issues with the upholstery handling the weather or moisture. That said, I didn't ever leave it wet. As soon as I could get back in the dry, I got the top back on and toweled everything off. If you are going to be out where it could be exposed without an opportunity to dry off, you might consider a good all-weather seat cover. I know that Cabela's had a line of wet okole covers (similar to a wetsuit) that were pretty nice and added some durability for prolonged exposure. I've just personally prefer the leather over vinyl any day.

Has anyone seen a specific reference to the leather trim option? The pics look awesome. Are we assuming it's the "Lux Package"?

Yes, if I remember what I was reading last night - the leather trimmed seats are part of the lux package. I believe that was on the detailed graphic that showed every Bronco version and the available packages for each one. There was a listing of what was included in the Lux Package. We won't really know until the configurator launches whether the leather seats can be selected without the entire package or not.

Found it. It's an option on Outer Banks and up.

I don’t know what to expect. I’ve never been a fan of marine grade vinyl - even on boats. I much prefer the neoprene for comfort. Maybe Ford has some trick up its sleeve though and is going to surprise us when we finally get a look at the real deal inside and out.

yeah for sure. If they're like boat seats....I'll probably just opt for cloth again, and wreck it....again. lol But I really want those drain plugs. Hosing out the car after a surfing or camping sounds like a dream. But price wise, I'd probably prefer the Big Bend trim with the Sasquatch package. Although supposedly you can't get it with a manual trim...so might be out of luck.

I’ve been on some pontoons and boats that were sporting some pretty plush seats and I assume they were maurine vinyl, so I’m optimistic to see what ford will do. It has to be better that the wet suit material on some vehicles.

honestly yes, I would probably prefer most vinyl options over neoprene seat covers. At least these will look cleaner.

I’ll most likely go for what I like that is the cheapest and see what katzkin does for after market.

Vinyl all the way if you think the interior will ever get wet.

I used to love being able to just hose out my YJ. I carried an umbrella to keep myself dry(ish) while driving and a surprise rain hit.

Id like to get a 10 way power marine vinyl but I think only leather will offer power?

I was just thinking the same thing. I'd rather have the vinyl but get the power seats.

The only option I don't see that ticks me off is memory seats on the power. I know damn well my wife will be stealing the keys to this thing and she's 5'-3". I'm 6'-1". My seat will not be remaining how I want it for long... I really hope they incorporate memory seats to this thing.

Oh dang I didn't even think about looking for this! I'm only 5'0 and hubby is much taller so I sure hope they have it! I know he's going to be stealing it sometimes...Otherwise manual is easier to adjust :p

I prefer marine vinyl, marine-grade vinyl is resistant to mold and mildew. It is also flexible so it can be easily installed on furniture, and it is very economical.

After seeing and touching the MGV at Super Cel East, I'm going for it if the trim I select has the option. My only concern is how well they will hold up over time. It's not like Ford's leather holds up that well anyways.

That’s the problem with leather seats in most cars now is that most of the seat is vinyl and only a small patch that you butt and back touches is leather. If I was going to do leather I would definitely get the Katskins it’s cheaper and better leather. I’m going MGV myself

Yep, I have heard of Katzkin's but never really knew what the price would be. It looks like they can customize just about any design but have some pretty good looking standard stuff too. It looks like the standard installation rate is around $500 but not sure about seat costs. It's definitely an option.
