First things first: Bronco Nation’s exclusive walk-around was filmed in February 2021. You’re going to catch “old news” in this new news. Still, despite some “been there, done that” moments (like a look at a trim and color we all know extremely well now), it’s awesome to finally be able to share this concept with you all. Ford released the news to the public today, and you can see additional photos of the Bronco plus read the press article in the forums.
Jordan takes us through this Velocity Blue Black Diamond “Riptide” surf rig concept. Let’s start at the gloss black grille, a special choice here. We move on down to the Capable bumper, standard on Black Diamond and Badlands on MY22 Broncos.
On the Riptide, the Sasquatch package has been optioned, and the wheels featured are Ford Performance beadlocks. For a look at the standard Sasquatch wheels, check out the spare tire for comparison. Rock rails protect the frame, and tube doors have been added.
The surfboard rack on top of the Bronco is a Ford custom accessory, and holds two J7 boards. Rigid light pods grace the mirrors, and a Rigid light bar spans the roofline. Covering the Bronco is a Bestop mesh Bimini top for some sun protection without losing the open-air feel.
Heading into the interior features, Marine Grade Vinyl seats and the washout floors make cleanup easy after a beach trip – and the lockable center console and glovebox protect valuables while you’re there. This Black Diamond has the Mid package, the higher of the two packages offered, as well as the 8” infotainment screen, the only size offered on the BD trim. Rail Dogs mounts are set up on the Picatinny rail for a GoPro and phone holder.
Stick around for a few more walk-through items after that, as well as a touch of Jordan setting his limits when it comes to riding waves –– no visuals, sorry; only words.
